One of the best cricket news of today is that on the auspicious occasion of World Disability Day, The Cricket Association Of Bengal (CAB) has announced that they will felicitate 30 active differently-abled cricketers with insurance cover for a year.
Avishek Dalmiya lead team of The Cricket Association of Bengal observed World Disability Day 2020 with their current crop of differently-abled cricketers at Eden Gardens today before the start of the day’s play on Thursday, December 3rd, 2020. Laxmi Ratan Shukla, the former Bengal Captain rang the bell for that occasion.

Around 30 differently-abled cricketers of all three categories– hearing impaired, visually challenged, and physically challenged cricketers were present at Eden Gardens for that moment.
Meanwhile, CAB is also hosting their first T20 league at Eden Gardens, which brings another great Cricket news for the fans of the game.
“The theme for this year of World Disability Day is to create a growing understanding that disability is part of the human condition. Keeping that in mind we have tried to do an inclusive program to make them a part of our efforts. CAB is always committed to working for the betterment of cricket and hence we have decided to facilitate 30 active cricketers, selected from all three categories, with insurance cover for a year,”
CAB President Avishek Dalmiya in an official release.
Gour Mohan Ghosh, Chairman Committee for Differently Abled cricketers said: “It felt really nice to see the boys so well received. They are a part of Bengal’s cricket fraternity and the Honorable President has always stood by them and supported their cause in every possible way. The insurance will motivate them to bring greater glory to Bengal.”

With the ongoing Bengal T20 Challenge going on the fans of Bengal cricket can hope for some great cricket back on the mecca of Indian Cricket, Eden Gardens.
Another cricket news of today from CAB is that the association has also sent an official letter to the BCCI to host the upcoming domestic season of 2020-21.
Great Initiative. Steps should be taken for getting more sponsor for them. Hope we will see more matches of State and National level on tv in future just like other cricket matches.
I hope so!
